BLACK AFRO-CARIBBEAN HAIR LOSS (Results) Traction Alopecia and Chemical Trauma: RESULTS IN A MATTER OF WEEKS WITH TRICHOLOGIST GARY HERON

06.04.2009 in BLACK AFRO-CARIBBEAN HAIR LOSS, HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, TRICHOLOGIST

Traction alopecia is hair loss caused by constant tension of braids and extensions on the hair, such as that created by an over-tight ponytail, plaiting or through using too tight rollers to style the hair.  The action of pulling on the hair over a long perio d of time results in the gradual shrinking of the hair follicle and so the hairs produced become finer and finer and permanently damaged if not treated.

Chemical trauma can be caused to the hair by bleaching, relaxing, perming or even dying the hair.
The chemicals involved in these processes can damage the protein structure of the hair, making it brittle and often causing hair loss.  As well as damaging the hair, these chemicals are also not good for the scalp and can irritate it.

Linda is using the following treatments listed below:

Vitastim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair.  It is a natural hop-based solution that works as a vasodilator to increase blood circulation in the scalp and so enable healthy hair growth.
Directions for use: One millilitre to be massaged into the scalp gently twice a day, morning and evening, and left on for at least 8 hours.
Please note: As vasodilators are designed to dilate the capillary blood vessels the scalp may redden on the area where the stimulant is applied and may also tingle slightly for a while.

Biostim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser
This stimulant contains a multi-vitamin complex to stimulate the hair follicles and increase hair cell production and proliferation.  It is also designed to prolong the hair growth cycle, promoting increased hair growth and density.
Directions for use: One millilitre to be massaged into the scalp gently twice a day, morning and evening, and left on for at least 8 hours.

MALE HAIR LOSS MAY BE CURED BY GARY HERON

25.03.2009 in HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED, TRICHOLOGIST

Baldness involves the state of lacking hair where it often grows, especially on the head. The most common form of baldness is a progressive hair thinning condition called androgenic alopecia or “male pattern baldness” that occurs in adult male humans and other species. The amount and patterns of baldness can vary greatly; it ranges from male and female pattern alopecia (androgenic alopecia, also called androgenetic alopecia or alopecia androgenetica), alopecia areata, which involves the loss of some of the hair from the head, and alopecia totalis, which involves the loss of all head hair, to the most extreme form, alopecia universalis, which involves the loss of all hair from the head and the body.

Treatments for the various forms of alopecia have limited success. Some hair loss sufferers make use of clinically proven treatments such as  topically applied 5% Minoxidil Plus and 15%Biostim (in solution) in an attempt to prevent further loss and regrow hair. As a general rule, it is easier to maintain remaining hair than it is to regrow; however, the treatments mentioned may prevent hair loss from Androgenetic alopecia.

Here is a normal type of response shown below over a 12 months period of intensive treatment under the supervision of our leading Westminster Trichologist Gary Heron:

Who Is the Right Person To See About My Hair Loss Problem? Is It the Doctor? If Not Who?

09.03.2009 in TRICHOLOGIST

To get advice and treatment for hair loss, you should always start with either your GP or a trichologist.

Until very recently hair loss of any shape or form was regarded as a natural process to be endured. Your Doctor would be neither sympathetic nor understanding or helpful if you plucked up the courage to see him or her about your hair loss problem.

But things may be slowly changing. An increasing number of doctors realise that hair loss can have psychological consequences that significantly diminish quality of life, especially for both younger men and women alike, and they are becoming slightly more willing to take your hair loss problem more seriously than in the past.

If you are lucky enough to have an enlightened GP, by all means seek their advice at the very least, youll get a referral to a reliable trichologist (although you will probably have to pay for any treatment you receive).

A trichologist, by the way, is a hair specialist whose training covers both the cosmetic and the medical aspects of the subject

Hair Loss Treatment Options Explored on New Hair Loss Website

05.02.2009 in HAIR LOSS PRODUCTS AND TREATMENTS, HAIR LOSS SCIENCE, TRICHOLOGIST

HairLossTreatment.net is a website devoted to giving prevention and treatment tips to males and females suffering from hair loss.

HairLossTreatment.net recently launched a new website that gives men and women tips for both preventing and treating hair loss. The new website covers everything from home remedies for hair loss to reviews of the most popular hair loss products on the market.

“Hair loss is a condition that affects millions of men and women throughout the world,” says Andy Salvino, Head of Marketing for Hair Loss Treatment. “We want to educate those suffering from hair loss on effective treatment methods they can use to put an end to this condition”

One key section of the website is the hair loss treatment reviews. The team over at HairLossTreatment.net spent hours researching and testing the most popular hair loss remedies on the market. Each product was examined for safety, cost, ingredients, and results produced.

“Our mission is to take the guesswork out of choosing hair loss products,” stated Salvino. “There are hundreds of products out there on the market, so it can be confusing for a first time buyer. By reviewing these products, we can help those suffering from hair loss make better informed decisions.”

Another key section of the website is dedicated to female hair loss treatment. While most commercials for hair loss products focus on balding males, the truth is some 30 million women in the United States are affected by this condition.

Included in the discussion of both male and female hair loss treatments is natural hair loss treatment. As consumers continue to grow more wary of chemical-based products, the demand for natural alternatives is rising.

“We believe strongly in natural hair loss treatments,” continued Salvino. “The truth is many of the chemical-laden hair loss treatments out there carry so many side effects, they aren’t worth using. By discussing the natural options available, we give men and women safe, effective alternatives to the common treatments.”

At the end of the day, “education” is what HairLossTreatment.net is all about. The amount of detail on this website makes it a valuable resource for anyone interested in hair loss prevention and treatment.
