Female Hair Loss First 3 months – visible results

Nikoleta visited us for the first time back in October 2016 and was diagnosed with severe androgenetic alopecia, also known as female-pattern hair loss. She is using our Vitastim and Biostim Hair Regrowth Stimulants and Hair Loss Stabilisers and our specialist shampoo & conditioner.

Androgenetic alopecia in women is often linked to hormonal changes with the hair loss following events such as the menopause, childbirth or as a result of stopping or starting oral contraceptive pills. The hair loss is generally more uniform over the scalp than in the male counterpart, but also results from a complex chemical reaction when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts the testosterone in the system into DHT or dihydrotestosterone. The hair follicles are genetically predisposed to be over sensitive to the DHT and become smaller and smaller with time, leading to the eventual hair loss.

Here at The Hair Centre we specialise in dealing with Female Hair Loss problems.

In fact, our results are second to none.

I had known for years that I’d have to confront my thinning hair problem at some stage. Having older sisters with various degrees of hair thinning led me to believe that I’d follow suit sooner or later. I took some action after I noticed that I had started to look haggard, much older than I should do. I put it down to having had a few stressful years but then I started to notice my visible scalp more & more.

I decided that I would have to look into what could be done as, although I don’t consider myself to be vain, I had begun to feel less attractive and feminine. I googled hair loss women and as The Hair Centre, in Victoria, looked very credible I looked through their information. I couldn’t help feel sceptical as I’ve not heard about any hair loss treatment that has been proven to work.

At the first consultation I met Gary Heron who took pictures of my hair. With the digital pictures on screen I could see how stressed and thin my hair had become. I still felt sceptical that anything could be done to properly rectify my thinning hair but seeing the extent of the damage made it worth while to try, despite having to borrow the money.

I find the treatment very straight forward and easy to adapt into my daily washing routines. The condition if my hair improved very quickly and I could see and feel some grow back within the first three months. Gary Heron was pleased by how responsive my hair had been to treatment and advised that by adding follicle builder to my treatment programme I should get a full recovery.

I’ve been receiving this treatment for a total of seven months, with three months including the follicle builder, and my hair is dramatically fuller and healthier. Gary Heron tells me that I am half way to a full recovery but I’m already receiving regular compliments about my hair again. I feel much more confident about my appearance and I’m looking forward to the next few months and getting even bigger hair!

  Sarah’s Treatments are:

Vitastim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser:
This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair. It is a natural hop-based solution that works as a vasodilator to increase blood circulation in the scalp and so enable healthy hair growth. It also contains a multi-vitamin complex to help catalyse the process of conversion of amino acids into keratin hair cells and accelerate growth and diameter of the hair from the dermal papilla.

Biostim 15% Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser:
This stimulant contains a very effective natural 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. It reduces the amount of 5-alpha reductase in the scalp and thereby reduces the formation of DHT, stabilising hair loss and encouraging a healthy growth cycle.

Psoriasis is characterised by the presence of red, raised patches covered by silvery-white scales, which is caused by an abnormally fast cell division rate in the epidermis layer of the skin and is a genetically determined disorder.  This condition often leads to increased shedding of hairs in the telogen (resting) phase of the hair cycle and some reduction in hair density.

Androgenetic alopecia in women is often linked to hormonal changes with the hair loss following events such as the menopause, childbirth, or as a result of stopping or starting oral contraceptive pills.

July 2007

May 2008

This Patient came to us in February last year. She was suffering from Female Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopecia).

(Before) FEBRUARY 2007

We prescribed the following treatments:

Vitastim Hair Regrowth Stimulant and Hair Loss Stabiliser:
This stimulant is recommended to help stabilise hair loss and strengthen existing hair. Charlotte is delighted with her early positive response. Her hair fall has all but stopped completely and has headed back to a normal regrowth cycle, and her irritation and scaly scalp are a thing of the past. She is now looking forward to further improvements and a good recovery over the next 6 to 12 months of ongoing treatments.

This 25 year old women started treatment with us in August 2007. She is diagnosed as suffering with Androgenetic Alopecia or Female Pattern Hair Baldness.

Androgenetic alopecia has a characteristic pattern of hair loss; it begins with a slight recession at the front hairline and is followed by thinning on the crown of the head.  This hair loss results from a complex chemical reaction when the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase converts the testosterone in the system into DHT or dihydrotestosterone.  The hair follicles are genetically predisposed to be oversensitive to the DHT and become smaller and smaller with time, leading to the eventual hair loss.

In order to treat hair loss effectively we would recommend that you have a diagnosis made as soon as possible by one of our experienced Westminster Trichologists. Stress can be an aggravator in almost all cases of hair loss and an accurate diagnosis will always, at the very least, take some of the stress away from you.

Gary Heron says: “You’ll have access to the most effective treatments available through The Hair Centre and at a fraction of the cost of going to other Private Commercial Clinics and Centres.”

When it’s time to see the Trichologist: If you begin losing hair rapidly, and or are cosmetically concerned about baldness, consult your Trichologist about treatment options. You can receive a free hair loss consultation with a Westminster Trichologist at our Hair Centre.

The point is that you are not getting to the real problem and you should seek specific professional advice from a Westminster Trichologist.

“Why buy hair loss treatments over the counter or on the internet when you can see a Westminster Trichologist for FREE and know that you are guaranteed results”

What is hair loss in women?

18.12.2012 in FEMALE HAIR LOSS, HAIR LOSS [ PHOTOS ] TREATED

One of the commonest forms of hair loss in women (and men) is a condition called telogen effluvium, in which there is a diffuse (or widely spread out) shedding of hairs around the scalp and elsewhere on the body.

14th october 2008 (1)5th Feb 2009 (1)

This is usually a reaction to intense stress on the body’s physical or hormonal systems, or as a reaction to medication.

The condition, which can occur at any age, generally begins fairly suddenly and gets better on its own within about six months, although for a few people it can become a chronic problem.

Because telogen effluvium develops a while after its trigger, and causes generalised thinning of hair density rather than a bald patch, women with the condition can easily be diagnosed as overanxious or neurotic.

Fortunately, it often gets better with time. Telogen effluvium is a phenomenon related to the growth cycles of hair.

Hair growth cycles alternate between a growth phase (called anagen, it lasts about three years) and a resting phase (telogen, which lasts about three months). During telogen, the hair remains in the follicle until it is pushed out by the growth of a new hair in the anagen phase.

At any one time, up to about 15 per cent of hairs are in telogen. But a sudden stress on the body can trigger large numbers of hairs to enter the telogen phase at the same time. Then, about three months later, this large number of hairs will be shed. As the new hairs start to grow out, so the density of hair may thicken again.

Many adults have had an episode of telogen effluvium at some point in their lives, reflecting episodes of illness or stress.

Another common type of hair loss in women is androgenetic alopecia, which is related to hormone levels in the body. There’s a large genetic predisposition, which may be inherited from the father or mother.

Androgenetic alopecia affects roughly 50 per cent of men (this is the main cause of the usual pattern of balding seen as men age) and perhaps as many women over the age of 40.

Research shows that up to 13 per cent of women have some degree of this sort of hair loss before the menopause, and afterwards it becomes far more common – one piece of research suggests that over the age of 65 as many as 75 per cent of women are affected.
